10 Self Tests

Test 1

This page contains a series of 10 self tests.

These are tests we use ourselves daily in the clinic to help build up a ‘picture’ of an individual’s mobility, flexibility, range of motion, balance or biomechanics.

These tests give us a ‘snap shot’ of a particular area about which we want to gain more objective information. In many cases we will use these tests to gain a base line marker so we can re-test at a later date after a treatment or a stretching, strengthening or mobility program.

The tests below will give you a good idea of some areas that you may need to do some more work on! Bear in mind though that we will seldom use only one of these tests in isolation. We will use a number of tests together to build up fuller picture of how your body is performing.

IMPORTANT
  1. Only do these tests if you can perform them pain free.
  2. DO NOT force any of the movements.
  3. Avoid these tests if you have an acute injury.
